You Belong with the Family at Heartland!
At Heartland, we believe the church is a family and it is our desire to help you find a home at Heartland. You are invited to worship with us this Sunday at 10:30 am. We hope that you have a great experience as you worship with us. Take a moment to plan your visit with us.
When and where are your services?
We gather for worship at 10:30 am on Sunday mornings with small groups at 9:15 am. Heartland is located at 4500 Humbert Road, right next to Alton High School.
What do I do when I get there?
When you arrive at Heartland, feel free to park in the guest parking spaces to the left of the church building. These are conveniently located next to our main entrance of the Worship Center. When you come inside, you will be greeted by some friendly members of the Heartland family who will hand you a worship guide, answer any questions that you may have, and help guide you to the Heartland Kids area if you brought children with you.
What about my kids?
One of our values at Heartland is to "impact the Next Generation with the Gospel." At Heartland, we love kids and have a fun, safe area with great volunteers to serve your children during small groups and the Worship Gathering. Children that are pre-K and younger can go to childcare during both small groups and the Worship Gathering. Children in grades K-5th will have small groups and join their parents for worship in the Worship Center. At the sermon, these children can be dismissed to go to Children's Church for a message and activities designed specifically for them. To learn more about what we have for your kids, check out this page.
What is the service like?
Our worship gathering is typically about 1 hour and 15 minutes, consisting of several songs led by the band and sung by the congregation, followed by a message from our Senior Pastor, Alex Melton. Pastor Alex will walk through a passage in the Bible as he explains what it means and how it applies to our lives today. If you don't have a Bible, that's ok! We have Bibles available at the Welcome Center, or you can always download the Bible app for free on your phone.
At some point during the service, we will collect an offering from the congregation. This is an act of worship and "Radical Generosity" for our church members, and you will not be expected to give. Your gift is joining us as we praise Jesus!
What should I wear?
In the Bible, Jesus is primarily concerned about the hearts of people. In times gone by, the church has gotten this backward by focusing on what people were wearing rather than the condition of their heart. At Heartland, you will find people in everything from jeans to suits and ties. Most people will dress more casually as our pastors usually wear jeans. We want you to come how you feel comfortable and can engage in worship.
What's next?
Join us for worship this Sunday! If you have any more questions about Heartland, life, or spiritual issues, please contact us or call the church office at (618) 462-1276. You can call the church office to set up an appointment with a pastor as well.
